Microbiome, Obesity, Sulfur Burps and it's Management (FREE Sponsored Webinar) Non-CME

The field of precision nutrition and microbiome modulation holds promise in the future of obesity management. This involves tailored interventions to the individual’s lifestyle and dietary patterns. The gut microbiome and its relevance in obesity was discussed in an earlier mice study in 2019 by Madsen et al (1), showing reduced bacterial community richness and diversity in mice with obesity. Our microbiome data using whole genome sequencing on human subjects showed a significant difference in the alpha diversity of subjects, when compared to a control cohort. Hydrogen sulfide producers and methane producers were also significantly increased in the cohort with obesity.
