Physical Activity Micro-credential (2026)
The Physical Activity micro-credential prepares clinicians to incorporate safe, effective, and personalized movement prescriptions into obesity treatment. This pathway focuses on assessing physical activity levels and functional limitations, understanding the metabolic and biomechanical impacts of obesity, and applying evidence-based exercise recommendations tailored to individual needs.
Learners develop the ability to design patient-centered activity plans that integrate aerobic, resistance, and lifestyle movement patterns, with special attention to comorbidities such as osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease, and sleep apnea. The pathway also promotes inclusive, stigma-free communication that supports long-term adherence.
