Description:

Sarcopenic obesity presents numerous risks to health and quality of life. Those with low lean muscle mass and function and increased adiposity are at risk for significant adverse health consequences, disability, frailty, and increased mortality. While it is more prevalent in older adults, adults of all ages are affected, with an overall prevalence of 15.9% of the U.S. population. Early diagnosis and treatment are vital to preserving and improving the health of those affected. In this webinar, you will learn how to identify and manage patients with sarcopenic obesity, as well as those at risk.

 Objectives:

1. Describe the pathophysiology and adverse health consequences of sarcopenic obesity

2. Identify individuals who have or are at risk for sarcopenic obesity

3. Utilize treatment strategies that increase lean muscle mass and function, reduce health risks, and improve health and quality of life
