Behavioral Modification Micro-credential (2026)
The Behavioral Modification micro-credential is designed to strengthen clinicians’ ability to address psychological, behavioral, and environmental factors that contribute to obesity. This pathway emphasizes practical counseling techniques, identification of behavioral barriers, and integration of behavior-change strategies into clinical practice.
Learners gain competency in conducting behavioral and psychosocial assessments, applying motivational and cognitive-behavioral strategies, and incorporating patient-centered goals into treatment plans. The pathway also reinforces the importance of minimizing weight stigma and building therapeutic rapport.

The Obesity Medicine Association designates this Enduring activity for a maximum of 6.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the commensurate amount with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Completion of this course alone does not qualify you for the Micro-Credential.
You must complete this course + one (or more) Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment course to earn the Micro-Credential.
All required courses (Micro-credential Course + one Fundamentals Course) must be fully completed in the LMS for credit to apply. Once both requirements are met, the Micro-Credential will be awarded.
