Obesity and Obesity Paradox in Cardiovascular Disease (Recorded Webinar)
In this webinar, Dr Carl Lavie will discuss the adverse effects that obesity has on the major CVD risk factors and to increase almost all CVD. However, despite these facts, patients with obesity and established CVD often have a better short and medium-term prognosis than do leaner patients with the same CVD. This is termed the obesity paradox. Considering this, Dr Lavie will also discuss the potential for weight reduction, especially with increased levels of physical activity and exercise that also increases cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and discuss the role of CRF on the obesity paradox.
