Obesity Medicine 2026 - Practice Models for Management of Obesity (Recorded)

The rising numbers of new ABOM diplomates is encouraging. From mentees to mentors, the common question is HOW to start an obesity medicine practice. Should you go solo or with a group? How do you convince your corporate office of the value in establishing an obesity practice? This session strives to address those questions, encouraging new diplomates to take the plunge into either their existing practice model or start a new obesity medicine practice. Through an engaging panel discussion, experts will share their real world experiences, addressing the key considerations when deciding what type of obesity practice is right for you. Various practice settings will be covered: independent, systems based, cash, insurance, and telehealth. By the end of this session, participants will have a better understanding of the variety of ways to serve patients as obesity experts.
