Surgical Interventions Micro-credential (2026)

The Surgical Intervention micro-credential prepares clinicians to identify appropriate candidates for metabolic and bariatric surgery, participate in pre-operative optimization, and co-manage long-term postoperative care. Rather than teaching clinicians how to perform surgical procedures, this pathway focuses on the collaborative medical management that surrounds surgery.

Clinicians learn to evaluate surgical candidacy, counsel patients on risks and expected outcomes, recognize early and late complications, and support multidisciplinary follow-up including nutritional monitoring, supplementation, mental health, and chronic disease management.
