GLP-1 and the Developing Brain (Recorded Webinar)
Pediatric obesity is associated with complex changes in brain development, cognition, and eating behavior, with important implications for clinical care. This webinar will examine emerging evidence on structural and functional brain changes associated with pediatric obesity and the social determinants that may influence these changes. Participants will also explore what is currently known and, not yet known, about the effects of anti-obesity pharmacotherapies on the developing brain, including GLP-1 receptor agonists, phentermine, and topiramate. The session will further address the relationship between obesity treatment and disordered eating in youth, with practical strategies for screening, monitoring, and supporting safe, individualized care.
