Obesity Medicine 2024 - We All Win: Combining Med-Surg Obesity Care (Live)

The purpose of this session is to help the obesity care specialist advocate for the integration of obesity medicine into a metabolic and bariatric surgery practice by detailing the potential benefits and programming needs of a combined medical-surgical bariatric program. Four members of the Obesity Medicine Association Bariatric Medical-Surgical (OMA MBS) Committee will review the recently completed work of the MBS committee which outlines the specific needs and practical approaches of how to create a combined medical-surgical bariatric program and serves as a guide for others interested in creating this type of program. In addition, the four-person panel will share their personal experiences in developing a combined medical-surgical obesity treatment program in settings that include academic, hospital and community-based practices.
