Obesity Medicine 2025 - Unlocking Access: Documentation Tips for Navigating Prior Authorization Process (Recorded)
In this session we will highlight key elements in gathering a history, chart documentation, and establishing critical workflows to enhance patient care while improving the prior authorization process for anti-obesity medications. Prior authorizations are a big barrier to patient care and approaching them systemically can help improve access to medications, improving both patient and prescriber satisfaction. The session will include discussion of the Universal Prior Authorization Template for glucagon like peptide-1 based anti-obesity medications: An Obesity Medicine Association proposal article. Participants will improve history taking, documentation, and patient care to facilitate the prior authorization.
