Obesity Medicine 2026 - Advanced Cases - Sustaining Weight Loss Through Life’s Transitions (recorded)
Long-term weight maintenance remains one of the most challenging aspects of obesity treatment, driven by metabolic adaptation, neurohormonal shifts, behavioral fatigue, and changes in medication regimens. This advanced session will examine the drivers of weight regain after successful weight loss, including the physiologic rebound that commonly follows discontinuation or dose reduction of GLP-1 therapies. While weight management during pregnancy and preconception planning will be included as a key clinical scenario, the primary focus will be on mastering complex strategies to sustain weight stability across varied life stages and treatment transitions. Through case-based teaching, participants will gain practical frameworks for preventing relapse, individualizing maintenance plans, and supporting patients through high-risk periods for regain.
