OMA 2023 Spring Summit: 2022 AAP Recommendations Regarding Obesity in Children (On Demand)
The AAP has comprehensively updated their recommendations regarding the disease of obesity in childhood. The incidence of obesity in childhood has not improved. There have been advances in both our understanding of the disease and in tools to treat the disease. Dr. Sarah Armstrong is the Chairperson of the Section on Obesity of the AAP. She will discuss the latest recommendations for the prevention and management of obesity in children. She will present community approaches, primary care approaches, and specialty approaches. She will provide updates on the latest in treatment approaches including anti-obesity medications and metabolic-bariatric surgery.
